Come along now, said Xen to Thomas. It is time for us to prepare for departure. Thomas was excited,
Though he would miss Xen he would be glad to get back home to familiar surroundings. Bluey had to agree. Bluey was sad, knowing that he would not be able to communicate with his master in this new fashion that he had acquired. Xen could detect this as well due to the mental connection that they shared. Because of the turn of events, however, the technology had to be removed. Besides they would never remember the experience anyway once their brains had been cleansed of the memories.
They would both be able to return to their normal lives. There was only one problem though, the impact form the last hit that they took damaged the dicidium chamber to a point that they would not be able to travel past warp factor one. Xen would not be able to get them back to earth until Saturday their time. Thomas, there is something that I must tell you. Due to the damage the ship sustained I’m afraid that I will not be able to get you back to your home for at least two earth days. You see, the dicidium chamber sustained a great deal of damage, so we will not be able to travel as quickly as when we escaped the Brogz. The dicidium chamber which provides us our fuel was ruptured and although I was able to repair the damage, much of the vaporous energy had leaked out.
Thomas was thoughtful for a moment, then he turned to Xen with a great big smile and said,” don’t worry, we already let my uncle know by radio that I was on my way back, and besides this is an adventure like none that I’ve ever had. With that said, Xen started up the engine. It would take at least twelve hours for them to reach the nebula Osiris, but they were not anxious about it, as they were in no danger at this time.
Thomas would you like to hear some of the kind of music we listen to on my planet? Okay, said Thomas. Xen touched a button on the control panel and the music began to play. After a while Bluey said, it sounds like when my master takes me to the beach, the water I mean. Xen said, actually that is exactly what it is. A beach of sorts, it is one of my home planets oceans. A place where I go to relax
and think. It gives me peace. My time out place if you will. Oh, I know all about that. Sometimes when I have disobeyed I get a time out. Only I don’t enjoy it so much. Just then Xen noticed something on his monitor a faint blip maybe ninety vinex (1/2 day) away and approaching fast.
It could only be Haz in pursuit of them. For he was not one to be trounced by anyone. He was determined to capture the escaped criminals and make them pay for their deceit. Knowing how the Borgz mentality was, Xen decided it was necessary to take evasive maneuvers to avoid capture at all cost. He excused himself and went into the anti chamber so as not to cause the boy and the dog any distress. He then contacted the daxian emperor to seek his council, and aid. True he could have remained at the helm, but Bluey had no problem translating what was being said, and would have ultimately informed Thomas as to the situation.
Your highness, I am in need of your assistance and council on a matter of grave importance! My vessel has been attacked by the Borgz twice since my departure on this mission. It is now operating on less than half capacity, to complicate matters I have in tow with me two earth creatures, #d8 and his master Thomas, an earth boy. I was planning to remove the implanted devices from #d8 when I arrived. However once I arrived, I discovered that Septo-Zan had captured #d8 and was in the midst of trying to remove the devices we had implanted in him. Unfortunately when I disengaged the cloaking device it must have alerted the Borgz because they were only moments behind me. I was able to lose them. However due to my procrastination they found me sooner than I anticipated. At which time I had my two passengers in tow. We were able to lose them in 27/O but my dicidium
chamber was damaged and repairs needed to be made. We are currently in the milky way galaxies near the arm of Perseus orbiting planet Qi. The Borgz according to my scanners are approximately ninety vinex behind us in a star cruises and gaining fast.
I see lord Xen, replied the emperor. This is indeed a quandary that you are in. Is there no way for you to return the earthlings intact with the allotted time you have and still be able to make your way back to Dax safely? With the state of my vessel, at this time I do not see how your majesty. “Have you considered teleportation?” asked the emperor. Your majesty at this great distance, I fear that would not be wise. There would be no way of knowing whether the transfer would be successful. Not to mention, with the ship in its present condition I could not be certain as to where they would land.
